Jim is back to work. Dwight has taken over Jim’s and Pam’s desks. He called it MegaDesk and he must have more. More. MegaDesk.

Dwight tries to get Jim to feel bad about being at work and it kind of working. Oh Jim, I know you’re vulnerable right now, but don’t be a pawn.

Jo Bennett shows up for one last visit to the Scranton Branch before she heads back to Tallahassee. Michael gives Jo a lump of coal she’s charmed and says he can visit anytime. Now he’s in or so he thinks.

He makes a fool of himself when he announces in front of everyone that he’s coming to visit July 4th weekend. She shuts him down.

Erin and Andy have their first date tonight and Erin has a little cold. On a side note, Angela has a surgical mask with her name embroidered on it. Jo sends Erin home then Andy fakes a cold and is sent home as well. Andy shows up at Erin’s house. Erin’s brother is home and they look like a couple to Andy.

Darryl has an idea of how to expedite shipping. Jo is impressed with Darryl’s idea and gives him Jim’s old office.  He moves in and the warehouse guys give him hard time.

Michael and the group start to leave for the day and Jo says they can go if they feel they’ve put in a good day’s work. Michael makes them all park it. They’re unhappy because it’s St. Paddy’s day and they’ve got drinking to do (especially Meredith). Everyone tries to sneak out, but Jo catches them. Jim makes a call to Jo about an extremely unusual afterhours meeting he needs to get to, while Dwight is in there with Jo trying to talk her about leaving. It’s finally 8:30 and Michael stands up to Jo and says he’s sending his group home.

Michael meets up with the group at the pub and gets humped by Todd Packer who in turn gets humped by Meredith. Michael also decides that it’s not important if Jo likes him because he never even questioned whether he likes Jo.

The next morning when Dwight comes in, Jim has stacked the three desks and named it QuadDesk. Mmmkay.

Lame. Lame. Lame. I really don’t know what else to say about it, other than it was a very weak episode. My husband says he’d rather watch Smallville than The Office and while I couldn’t disagree with him more, there’s just something missing. What’d you think? Weak sauce? Awesome sauce? Mediocre sauce? Let me know in the comments.

I thought it was nice. NO big drama. A bunch of silly laughs, and once again the Office folks IN the office interacting with each other.

  2. Megan says:

I personally loved this episode. The Dwight/Jim Megadesk thing reminded me of the good old days of the pranking etc. I hope they continue to bring back the old dynamic – it was one of the reasons I started watching this show. And I agree with KP – the absence of the big drama, the fact that they were all just in the Office (with the exception of Andy and Erin) felt right.
