I don’t know what’s up. I’m either in a bad mood lately, or the show is in a season 5 slump (in my opinion). With the exception of last week’s episode, I’ve been very disappointed in the overall result of the show. But let’s get started, and I want to know what you all think.

Barney went to the Superbowl. While there, he held up a poster that said, “Call Barney Stinson” and had his phone number at the bottom. (Did anyone else notice that “Call Barney Stinson” starts with the letters “CBS”)? Because of this poster, he spends the rest of the episode struggling with his ringing phone, and which “hot girl” he actually wants to hook up with. He had hired his Ranjit to be his personal driver for the week since he was going to bang one hot girl after another. However, every time he gets close to sleeping with another girl, his phone rings and a hotter girl happens to be on the other end. He spends the episode having Ranjit drive him from his apartment to McLarens and back again, until his phone is finally destroyed in the end (by Ted, but I’ll get to that later).

Ted really wants to get married, and he has put Lily and Marshall up to the task of finding him a date for Valentine’s Day. They forgot to do so, and end up finding him a girl that Barney had cast aside. They think they’ve scored big, since she was going to be deported very soon, and needed to get married. However, little did they know that Ted was in possession of Barney’s “girl phone” and that he was finding dates for himself. In the end, he and Barney fight over the phone, and Lily throws it into a pitcher of beer, therefore ending the craziness of the phone.

Robin has a new coworker. Remember Don? The guy that doesn’t wear pants. Well, she hates the guy, or so she thinks. Everyone else is convinced that she loves him. They look at a book that has a picture of a rabbit in it, but once you look a little differently, you can see that it’s a duck. They then get into a debate on which is worse; a rabbit or duck. Marshall seems to think it’s the duck, and everyone else thinks the worse of the two is the rabbit. This leads to a heated debate with the group, which I thought was unnecessary and just a way to fill in more time. Don invites her to Valentine’s Day at his place with a group of people, but when she arrives, he’s doing the “Naked Man” and it throws her off guard. She then categorizes him as a rabbit, for sure. This is until he apologizes for his behavior, and wears pants. He turns into a duck, in her eyes, and she realizes that she may actually have feelings for him.

So, that’s about it. What did you think? I was disappointed, and really miss the way the show had been in the past seasons. I think that they need to focus more on the true meaning of the show, and find other ways to fill the time. I did laugh, but not as much as I was hoping for. Leave your TwoCents in the comments, and I’ll see you next week.

I wasn’t that unsatisfied… I loved the call backs to Trudy, Blah-Blah, Naked Man, “lawyered”.

I think NPH is a great physical comedian with perfect timing, but we do need a non “Barney is a man-whore” episode.

It wasn’t the Pineapple Incident or Slap Bet… but it was better than the NJ or Hamburger episodes 🙂

I agree, it was better than SOME episodes that have been on (like the NJ one for example), but was nothing compared to The Pineapple Incident or Slaps Bet.

The conversation btwn Lily and Marshall with the old refrences made it feel like home to me.

I’m on the fence about this episode. I was able to watch it while posting reviews and writing up memos. If I can do something else while it’s on, then it’s not a great episode. I think they’re losing something…

And now J-Lo is on set. GRR. LOL

I was tempted to check my email and stuff during the episode, but decided against it (no doubt due to NPH). But yea, you shouldn’t be able to do that while watching the amazingness that is HIMYM.

I’m on the fence about the J-Lo thing though…she’s not bad, but not the best. Now Carrie Underwood on the other hand… 8-D

I can’t wait for the CU episode! It looks great.
