This week’s theme is all about secrets: Jeff trying to keep his girlfriend a secret, Britta and Troy hiding secrets…let’s see how this goes, shall we?

Annie wants to talk about the fact that a door to the library is locked at 5:30, so how about moving study group to 4:30? Troy and Britta immediately object, and then Pierce is very late prompting everyone to think he’s dead. He walks in and lets them know he’s not Mickey Rooney; they don’t have to check up on him. Jeff is dating a woman and he definitely does not want anyone to know who she is. Pierce guesses that it’s a guy and Jeff immediately tells him no: It’s TWO GUYS.

Troy is a bit more popular than last we saw him as he walks to dance class. He’s the best dancer in the class, and he threatens to kill anyone who talks about it. Turns out, Britta is in dance class too! Britta suggests that they come clean to the group and invite them to the dance recital. He agrees after some long heavy thinking.

Jeff is dating that professor from back during the Halloween episode. You know, the statistics one. It’s a hot dirty little secret. They make out in her office, then in the library where Jeff freaks out about being caught because the study group is right on the other side of the window. Professor Slater (hey, that’s her name!) throws caution to the wind and turns out, no one peeks through the blinds. Until Jeff looks out of the other window and yep, you guessed it – everyone is staring right at them. Turns out the door Annie was so worried about was locked.

Awkwardly they all get together to talk about it and Abed explains that Jeff is like the dad of the group, so introducing Slater is like meeting their new mom. Jeff explains that this definitely has to be a secret. Pierce compares the situation of barriers between student and professor to Rosa Parks. Britta comes clean about her tap class but Troy balks at telling when everyone makes fun of her for being vulnerable and feminine when she really doesn’t portray any of those attributes. He lies and says his secret is that he knew Britta’s secret. Annnd Pierce Twittered the hell out of Jeff’s relationship to Slater and the Dean finds out.

Troy decides to drop dance, explaining to Britta that girls are supposed to dance. That’s why God gave them parts that jiggle. Shirley sees Britta taking out her aggression on a vending machine and thinks it’s because of Jeff’s relationship with Professor Slater. Britta predicts that the thrill of his relationship was the secrecy and now that it’s out the thrill is gone. Then, we pan to Jeff and Slater in the Dean’s office answering questions such as ‘how long have you been doing it?’ And then the question comes up: Would you consider yourself boyfriend and girlfriend? Jeff gives the ‘eehhhhh’ response while she says yes. Annnd there’s the end of that relationship.

Jeff makes his way to go see Slater and explains he’s afraid of commitment. She rolls her eyes at the originality of that, but he says it’s true. They have a whole long argument about titles and relationship status that is too awesome for me to try and recap, so you really need to find it. But it ends with her giving him another chance.

At the recital, Britta notices that it’s a pretty huge crowd out there, and Annie breaks the news that Jeff and the Professor filed paperwork to make their relationship official. The tap recital is a bunch of people dressed as flowers tapping to Tea for Two and Britta is the tea pot. As Pierce said: “This is ridiculous already.” Britta looks out and sees Jeff holding Slater’s hand and forgets to keep dancing. Troy was watching from the wings and runs out to save her. So now, his secret is out in an awesome twist. The crowd goes wild! Troy thanks Britta, because she looked so pathetic, she made him going up there the most masculine option.

There’s an awkward moment between Britta and Jeff where he explains he made that next step with Slater thanks to Britta. If he can handle a friendship with her, who is to say he can’t handle an official relationship? And then, he presents her with flowers as we’re treated to Abed dancing solo on stage before we fade to black.

I found this episode superior to last week’s, even though Jack Black was a guest star. The witty banter this week was on point and really, if you had to go to Hulu.com to see and episode, it should be this one. It’s so fantastic. What did you all think? Great episode, or am I over hyping it? Leave me your Two Cents in the comments!
