Well, I was prepared to be very cranky during this episode since I had to miss the Golden Globes to watch it, but I was pleasantly surprised. I felt this was a bit of a return to the DH we know and love. I was especially glad to see the episode start with Bob and Lee. We definitely don’t see enough of them. Also, Katherine was back this week. Read on to find out what went down on Wisteria Lane this week.

Tom and Lynette have dinner at Bob and Lee’s. Bob and Lee are seeing a counselor and Tom wants to go to therapy and starts arguing with Lynette because she doesn’t want to. Yet another disastrous Wisteria Lane dinner party – why do they even bother? Tom starts keeping a feelings journal – he has started seeing a therapist on his own. (Anyone else thinks Tom’s looking pretty sharp in his suits? Why were Lee and Mrs. McClusky thinking about his shorts? The suits are much better!) Lynette shanghais an appointment with his therapist (Jane Leeves from Frasier!) to find out what Tom’s been saying about her. Of course the therapist won’t tell her, but starts asking her questions, and Lynette ends up staying to talk to her. Tom comes home from work to find Lynette writing in a feelings journal and she tells Tom that they will be going to counseling together.

Katherine is still in a mental hospital and seeing a therapist. Mrs. McClusky visits Katherine and tries to convince her to come home when she gets out. Katherine thinks that nobody wants her back after all that she has done but Mrs. McClusky tells her that people might be more forgiving than she thinks. Katherine doesn’t believe her. Mrs. McClusky visits again and this time she has Bree, Gaby, Lynette, and Susan in tow. They tell Katherine that the do forgive her. It’s hugs all around. I guess she’s all better now.

Orson hasn’t taken a bath in a week? Gross. He is still being impossible and Bree demands that he at least say please when she fixes his breakfast. He refuses and she puts his waffle on a shelf out of his reach. I think he got off easy – I probably would have poisoned it. When his therapist arrives, Orson puts himself on the floor claiming he fell trying to get his waffle. The therapist accuses Bree of starving him. He plays like she’s abusing him. He continues to act like an ass and refuses his bath until Bree snaps, wheels him outside, covers him in dish soap and turns the garden hose on him and won’t stop until he says “please.” He then yells at her about how much it sucks that he will be dependent on asking for help for the rest of his life and all he wants to do is get up and make himself a cup of tea. She begs his forgiveness which he accepts. Does this mean they’re all better now too?

Juanita is going to the private school after all. She is placed in the “leopard” group and Susan makes Gab y think that this is the “slow” group. Gaby tries to crack the code of the animal groups, but the school has a policy not to tell. She looks at Juanita and her friends’ homework and figures out that the “leopard” group is the most advanced. She rubs this in to Susan’s face who was basically rubbing it in her face that MJ was in the “giraffe” group which she thought was the most advanced. While talking to MJ’s teacher, Susan blabs about what the animal groups mean and the whole school finds out. While in the principal’s office, Gaby and Susan talk and agree that they were being silly and competitive.

Ana has dinner at Danny’s, but Angie doesn’t think too much of her. She won’t eat her rigatoni and wants to be a model straight out of high school rather than go to college. While talking to Lee, Angie tells him that she doesn’t approve of the relationship and he convinces her to not try to break them up because it will only push Danny away. Angie goes shopping with Ana to try to bond. Ana tells her that whether or not Angie likes her, she’s sticking around and that the reason she likes Danny is because she went through some bad stuff herself and knows what it’s like to be defensive and surly when having a rough time. Angie is impressed, sort of.

I did enjoy this episode, but I’m getting frustrated that the season is about half over and we haven’t gotten any closer to finding out who attacked Julie or what the full story is with the Bolens. Hopefully, Bree and Orson’s touch feely moment at the end tonight means he will go back to acting like a decent human being. Here’s hoping Katherine is also back to Wisteria Lane and back to normal. Now, judging from the lack of previews for the next episode, I can only assume (because I haven’t checked) that there will be no new episode next week. Hello, couldn’t we have taken this week of so some of us could watch the GGs? That would have been nice. Oh, trivia question. I looked online briefly and couldn’t find the answer. Does anyone know who the actor was playing Katherine’s shrink? He looked familiar to me, but I didn’t see enough of him to place him.

  1. Farrah says:

Ok this is gonna sound really weird, but the therapist had the same last name as Kitty’s doctor over on Brothers and Sisters. Ya think they’re preparing us for a super weird crossover of some kind? Or just writers being lazy?

Yes, I was that bored with the episode that is my only thought. LOL.

And he is not listed in the imdb page but I agree he looks familiar.
