I know I’ve said this before – but you couldn’t pay me to live on Wisteria Lane. If it’s not murder, arson or tornadoes, a plane is crashing onto the street. That’s right, a small plane crashes onto Wisteria Lane right in the middle of the neighborhood Christmas party and not all of our housewives are going to make it out alive.

The pilots of our doomed plane are a bitter married couple who argue the entire opening. Of course the wife is portrayed as an unbearable shrew, which irks me to no end, but I’ll let it go for now. While arguing about who will get what in the divorce they’ve just decided to go through with, hubby has a heart attack and dies, and the plane starts to go down, because shrewish wife has no idea how to fly. It is, of course, heading right for Wisteria Lane.

The ladies (and Lee) are setting up for the neighborhood Christmas party when an ambulance flies up to Katherine’s house (Susan: Oh crap. Who’s dead now?). As Katherine is wheeled out of the house, she points to Mike as the person who stabbed her.

The Bolens are arguing with the hospital staff because they want insurance information and the Bolens insist on paying cash. Nurse (and neighbor) Mona incorrectly assumes they are in the witness protection program and Nic and Angie don’t correct her. Nurse Mona takes Danny home when he’s released from the hospital (which seems very odd to me). Mona tells Danny that she knows the family’s situation, but of course Danny doesn’t realize she has the story wrong and he accidentally tells her the truth, including mentioning something about terrorism. When Angie tries to tell Mona that he’s making it all up, Mona tells Angie she wants $67,000 or she’s going to the police. The Bolens can only come up with $10,000 and Angie’s wedding ring.

Bree presents Orson with divorce papers and the pictures of him with his fellow inmate. He is hurt that she is blackmailing him, because he never intended on sending her to prison for fraud. He was bluffing. Orson agrees to move out and while Bree is telling the good news to Karl, Orson overhears. She tells Orson she won’t go public with her new relationship until the divorce is final. Karl however has other ideas. He hires a plane (the doomed plane) to carry a banner over the Christmas party that asks Bree to marry him.

Susan visits Katherine in the hospital to try to convince her to tell the truth about her stabbing. Katherine’s on the phone with Dylan telling her not to visit, that she’s fine. Katherine tells Susan a bizarre story about Mike stabbing her because he’s jealous that she’s now in love with someone else. Susan wants to have Katherine committed, but only family can do that. She convinces the nurse to dial Dylan’s number, impersonates a doctor and convinces her to come to Fairview. When Dylan arrives, Susan tries to talk to her. Katherine has been feeding Dylan lots of lies. Dylan believes that Katherine and Mike are married, that Susan made a scene at their wedding, and Susan stabbed Katherine because she’s jealous. Susan shows Dylan her wedding album and convinces her of the truth. Dylan speaks to her mom, tells her she knows the truth and asks her if she stabbed herself. Katherine keeps repeating “I told you not to come.” She flips out, rips out her IV and starts running all over the hospital. She has to be restrained by orderlies. It is really not pretty.

Gaby is still mad at Lynette. Tom convinces Lynette to go over and apologize to her. Unfortunately, just before Lynette shows up at Gaby’s house, Carlos finds out that he may lose his job over the lawsuit, so Gaby slams the door in her face before she gets a chance to say anything.

The Neighborhood Christmas Party
Gaby and Lynette continue to argue even though they are supposed to be singing Christmas Carols. Even when Lynette tries to take Gaby’s daughter to see Santa, Gaby drags her off.

Karl asks to talk to Orson so he can explain about the banner before he’s humiliated. They go inside Santa’s workshop and Orson punches him in the face, twice! They start fighting. When Bree realizes what’s going on, she goes into the workshop.

Mona is not happy about the amount the Bolens have come up with. She demands the whole $67,000 or she will go to the police.

Here comes the plane: As Angie is trying to stop Mona the plane hits the street and clotheslines Mona (so there’s Angie’s problem solved). The plane rips right through the party and everyone runs screaming. Celia is standing right in its path and Lynette saves her (so I’m assuming that will be the resolution to their problem). The plane also takes out Santa’s workshop with Karl, Orson and Bree still inside. Although we don’t see them, we do see a bloody arm hanging through one of the windows.

Well, we knew going into this week that someone would not survive the plane crash. Is Mona going to be the only death, or do you think there will be more? I’m sort of torn between thinking either Karl or Orson won’t survive. I’m just not sure which way the writers want to go with that story. Unfortunately, we are going to have to wait before we find out who survived.
