Two girls, Jordan and Phoebe, sneak backstage at a concert and get picked up by a hot band. The next morning, Jordan starts to swell and passes out on the diner floor.
Wilson is going to a conference and says House is coming with him. House says no, he’d rather go to a pillow fighting contest. The group wants to figure out what’s wrong with the patient, the killjoys.
Cuddy is going to the conference with Wilson and House finds out so now House wants to go too. Aw, House’s first diagnosis was wrong, of course, so now he can’t go. He also thinks that Jordan is a big fat liar and didn’t give an accurate medical history.
Turns out the girls weren’t with the band, they stalked a comic book guy named Keener. They followed him down to the restaurant and even ate what he ate for dinner. Worst. Idea. Ever. The team thinks Jordan is bulimic.
House and Wilson get ready to go to the conference. Wilson suggests that if House likes Cuddy, he should ask her out. House says that’s too forward and he needs to work her a bit first. Also, at the conference, House isn’t scheduled to attend so he jacks someone else’s nametag and identity for the duration.
Jordan’s parents finally show up and then Jordan’s heart starts filling up with blood. Later she starts bleeding in her brain. Foreman asks Phoebe where Jordan was the whole night and Phoebe says that Jordan says she went to get ice. Hmm…bet that’s not where Jordan was.
There’s an 80’s costume party at the conference. House is dressed like Benjamin Franklin because they didn’t specify which 80’s. Cuddy is dressed like Jane Fonda, too, by the way and she and House dance to Time After Time. They talk about when they first met. House apparently worked at the bookstore and they’re talking when Cuddy abruptly says she needs to go study and leaves.
House sees Wilson’s lecture notes thinks Wilson euthanized his patient who was dying and in severe pain. House berates Wilson and Wilson says if there’s one thing he’s learned from House is that you do what you think is right and don’t worry about the consequences. House says, sarcastically, that yeah, that’s worked out really well for him.
Jordan was bringing Keener the journal he left behind when she says she was going to get ice. Cameron and Chase confront Keener. He denies it but Cameron gets up in his face.
Wilson confronts Cuddy about House after she got kicked out of the conference because her baby was crying. She says she’s a mother now and she needs a man she can count on every single day and that’s not House. Wilson says that House has a chance to prove his dependability by babysitting for Cuddy. House drugs Wilson with grape soda.
They drug Jordan and she talks about how Keener let her in his room and he gave her what he said was Ecstasy then he proceeded to rape her. Turns out everything she’s just said is a lie. They still don’t know what’s wrong with her.
House goes up to Cuddy’s room and offers to babysit. Turns out Lucas beat him to it. ‘Member him? The private detective from last season?
While Wilson was drugged, House speaks in his place about euthanasia, Wilson’s paper. Apparently, House did it so that Wilson’s ideas will get out without any damage to his reputation. Remember, House is Dr. SomeoneElse for the weekend.
Cuddy and Lucas and Wilson and House double date. House wants to know how Lucas and Cuddy got together. Lucas rambles about House’s hallucinations and it’s all awkward. They also see how great Lucas is with Rachel.
House figures out that Jordan has hemochromatosis exasperated by the iron in the bulimia drugs. She gets better and her real story is that she never got up the courage to knock on Keener’s door.
Cameron believes that Chase’s abnormal behavior is due to an affair. Chase still doesn’t want to tell her even though she says she will help him get past whatever’s eating at him. Chase tells her. Gah, finally. Cameron pulls away from him.
I’m really not sure how I felt about this episode. I mean, drugging Wilson is a typical House maneuver but something’s not sitting right. I also hate to think of House backing off because Lucas is there. Do House and Cuddy belong together, or should it stay House and Wilson? I’m also not liking the idea that Cameron pulls away from Chase after his revelation to her. Is that typical Cameron? Let me know what you thought in the comments!
