It’s the episode everyone is talking about: THE THREESOME. So does the “previously on” really matter? Here we go.

It’s cotillion time and Jenny is making her debut to society. She needs to make the perfect debut and wants Graham Collins to escort her. Blair wants to take Chuck on a romantic date but he is taking Nate out to celebrate moving in to his new place. Blair is supposed to be a mentor for cotillion but she doesn’t want to run into Serena. Chuck convinces her to go so Serena can apologize to her. Serena interviews with Trip for a job doing PR for him and they reflect on old times as she interviews. She also mentions how much their talk on election night meant to her. Hm, wonder what they were talking about? Olivia, Vanessa and Dan are cramming for exams when some crazed fans come up to her talking about another installment of her movie coming out. Olivia swears it isn’t happening but when she looks at her phone, she has a bunch of missed calls. Lily is running the debutant practice and Jenny doesn’t have an escort yet. Lily makes Jenny nervous when she tells her the other debs have been taking ballroom dancing for years. Eric is escorting a girl who lives next to Graham and wants to help Jenny get him as her date. Eric convinces her to leave it alone but of course she doesn’t. Dan and Vanessa use the “15 Things You Should Do Before Graduating College” list to help Olivia have some fun. Olivia is bummed about having to go shoot the movie and Dan and Vanessa are trying to help cheer her up. Jenny is freaking out about the cotillion because she wants it to help people forget she is just a “Brooklyn nobody.” Eric helps her figure out how to dance and is being all nice (which I don’t believe for a second!) and while he can’t be her escort, offers up Jonathan. At the same time, Jenny’s phone goes off with a text from Graham saying he’d be her date to cotillion. Eric responds for her saying no thanks. OOOHHH. That’s gonna come back to bite him!

Blair shows up at the cotillion mentor dinner and her and Serena argue over who should apologize to each other. Blair mentors Jenny and the first thing she does is says Jonathan shouldn’t be her escort, which is fine because Jonathan doesn’t want to be her escort anyway. Eric finally convinces him. Serena leaves the dinner to help Trip (her official title: Media Relations Rep) with a speech and they get a bit too close. Kira, the deb Eric is escorting, is talking to Jenny and reveals the big Graham/text thing. Eric and Jenny get in an argument in front of everyone and Jonathan’s name is brought up (concerning him being the escort) which angers him and he runs out and Jenny “fires” Blair as her mentor and bla bla bla this is really boring. Oh look, a MAC/PC commercial – much more interesting….

Blair goes to Chuck’s place and he is sitting in the living room with a girl on the couch and one walking in and then Nate comes in all disheveled. Blair isn’t phased at all and is all happy happy joy joy. Back at Trip’s office, Trip is treating Serena super weird and admits he is “effected” by her being there. Good thing her text message from Blair breaks the awkwardness. Since Jenny “fired” Blair she takes on Kira as her mentee. Kira looks familiar. Where is she from? Eh, I’ll IMDB her later. All the girls are getting ready for cotillion. Wow, there’s a LOT of makeup going around. Word on the street is Jenny did get Graham as her escort and Jenny is ready to say goodbye to the old her. Olivia, Dan and Vanessa are at a party doing shots having a blast and apparently danced in a fountain previously. I just realized Vanessa is always around Dan and Olivia and I’m thinking they’re the threesome, especially since the alcohol is just pouring in and Olivia is super depressed. Kira is all decked out and her escort shows up – and it’s Graham. Holy betrayal, Batman! (Anyone else predict that one?)

Nate shows up at cotillion all hot and James Bond-esque. Oh, will Nate save Jenny’s day? Jenny is excited about her night so I hope he does. Nate was sent with a message for Blair from Chuck to meet him upstairs. Olivia is getting all sappy about leaving and says she has lived the college experience so they leave the party. When Blair goes upstairs, Serena is waiting for her saying she got a text from her to meet her there, but Blair lost her phone. They get in the elevator to go downstairs and Chuck gets on the speaker for them to work things out. They begin talking. Downstairs the cotillion is beginning and it’s almost Jenny’s turn. When she is announced with Graham as her escort, she begins to walk towards him but someone hands the announcer a card that says Kira instead of Jenny. She runs out of the room, confused and upset.

The band at the cotillion is singing some song that just keeps saying “I’m a bitch.” Great song. Jenny is frantically running around looking for Blair because she thinks she’s behind it. Eric tries to tell her to let it go and put it all behind her and that being queen isn’t all it’s about. Jenny calls “someone” to ask them if they’re still in the building. Nate to the rescue? Serena and Blair are bonding in the elevator. Serena tells Blair about looking for her father over the summer and it gets all sappy. Serena admits to having a crush on Trip and Blair advises her to not do it (duh?). The three musketeers have done 14 out of the 15 items on the list and Olivia doesn’t want to leave without doing them all. What’s #15 you ask? Have a threesome. None of them have ever done it and they decide to go for it. I’m kinda glad to just watch Vanessa and Dan finally kiss. But Hilary Duff in a threesome? Weird. Back at cotillion, Jenny gets presented to “the world” by Nate. SEE! I win! I win! She gets a standing ovation, tons of pictures and Blair’s jaw on the floor. Eric is also not too happy and leaves.

Serena decides to resign from her job with Trip. Jonathan meets up with Eric and breaks up with him because of all the drama he has put him through and the person he has become. Jenny leads her followers out of the hotel and Eric and Kira get dumped on on her way out. Eric says he is going to take down Jenny for good and it seems like Kira will help him. When Serena goes to resign, Trip convinces her to stay because he trusts her. They handshake on keeping things “friendly and professional.” Yah, that will last long. Lily and Rufus discuss making their children happy and how sometimes they just won’t understand certain things. Lily sees a letter from Serena’s father to her on the desk. While the three musketeers sleep, a text comes through that the movie has been called off. What will that mean for the morning after awkwardness??

Next week is the fall out from the threesome. That’s it? Yep, that’s it.

Ok, so let’s be honest here. The threesome hype was not worth it. So three different coupled-off people kissed and then woke up in a bed together. OOHH, scandalous. There have been MUCH worse scenes on this show than that. I really would love to see Nate and Jenny back together again and have him calm her down. I don’t like Queen Jenny and Nate always seems so sad. And we all know Serena and Trip won’t keep their hands off each other for much longer. Those are my two cents, what are yours? Leave them below!
