Oh, dear. One of my teams looks to be in trouble… and it’s the return of the WORST ROAD BLOCK EVER. Fasten your seat belts (and make sure you have your passports): this is gonna be interesting.

The Top 5 Things I Learned from The Amazing Race 15

5. Flight Time & Big Easy [Harlem Globetrotters] Happy birthday, Flight Time! After realizing that they just need to have fun as they run the race, FT & BE did something they have never done before: they came in first! What a great birthday present… a trip to Turks and Caicos! Congrats, guys!

4. Meghan & Cheyne [Dating] This couple ran into a figurative wall in their relationship during this leg. At the Detour, they hose the task “Nobel Dynamite” where they had to build a sand bag wall, hook up some dynamite, and blow up a metal box revealing their next clue. These two fought through the entire task. Granted, they had earplugs in, but Cheyne’s non-responsiveness to Meghan’s pleas was a little jerky. Then at the WORST ROAD BLOCK EVER, Cheyne wouldn’t step up and just let Meghan suffer through. She got him back in the end, though, when she feigned quitting then pulled the flag out of her pocket. They got to the Pit Stop in 2nd.

3. Ericka & Brian [Married] We found out that Brian has an ulterior motive when it comes to being on The Amazing Race: to prove to both families that they ARE a good couple. Apparently, Ericka’s mom is not too happy that she married a white dude. They did pretty good this leg, landing at the mat in 3rd.

2. Dan & Sam [Brothers] Remember me mentioning the WORST ROAD BLOCK EVER? Well, it’s a “Switchback” from Season 6 and took one team 10 hours to complete (actually, they didn’t complete it… Phil just showed up and told them that they were eliminated). In a field of hundreds of hay bales, a team member had to unroll the bales looking for one of only seven little AR flags. Sam took on the task and Dan proceeded to yell at him the entire time. I guess he thought that since he had seen Season 6 he knew all the tricks and that Sam was doing everything wrong. Seriously, I was ready for Sam to walk up to him and punch him in the face. Luckily, Dan realized what a jerk he was being (even cried about it at the mat) and shut up. Sam found a flag and they got to the Pit Stop in 4th.

1. Gary & Matt [Father/Son] My team couldn’t catch a break all day! Bumped to the second flight, missed the train, got lost, you name it. But they wouldn’t give up. At the Road Block, Gary took it for the team and struggled through. He wanted to go out on a good note, not quitting or throwing in the towel. His persistence paid of and they finally caught some luck: it was a non-elimination leg! Most touching quote of the episode: “My dad is Superman.”

  1. Farrah says:

My deal with the brothers was if Dan had seen the show and knew about the task, why didn’t he do it? On the same token, him yelling at Sam wasn’t cool, but also, Sam should’ve listened to him since he knew about the task. It’s hard to see who was right and who was wrong. But they’re still siblings and siblings fight.

I’m still rooting for Flight Time and Big Easy, but I’m so glad Matt and Gary get a second chance!

I’m not really caring about anyone else. 🙂
