There is no “previously on” in this week’s episode, so I guess we’re diving right into the show. Oh, before I get started. Word on the street is there is going to be an official Grey’s/Private Practice crossover coming up soon. Not like the Bailey one, but where it involves both shows with a few doctors. Wahoo! Ok, back to our show.

The show opens with Addison making a house call to a patient who has ovarian cancer and seems to be dying quickly. Addison wants to admit her to the hospital but she won’t leave her cat – Milo is the only person she has. A new doctor, Dr. Fife, joins Pacific Wellcare and Naomi wasn’t aware of it, despite her being the hiring doctor. He is a genetic doctor and Naomi is caught completely off guard. Their first case is a dwarf couple who want a dwarf baby. Naomi is uncomfortable with “designer babies” and Dr. Fife doesn’t seem to care what Naomi has to say. He keeps telling her to check her e-mails, that it was all in her e-mails. Pete is helping a patient whom he is instructing to go upstairs for therapy and she just wants to kill herself. Violet tells Addison she should take care of Milo because she has commitment issues and it would help her deal with it. Charlotte is upset because she can’t get any patients and can’t figure out why. Pete’s patient’s significant other (I’m assuming fiance? His name is Jimmy…) comes to talk to him for help on what to do to help her. Barbara, the patient, is going to do electric shock therapy, a suggestion brought on by Violet.

Pete and Violet discuss Barbara’s case and Pete doesn’t agree with the electric shock suggestion. Violet feels free and this is one of her ideas because of her new “free” outlook. She also is speaking her mind. Oh, I also forgot to mention Charlotte gave all the women in the practice vibrators and Violet tells Pete she’s going home to use hers. Really Violet? Tell your baby daddy you’re gonna go home and do that? Come on now. Addison visits with Lily, her patient dying of cancer and she has decided since Addison took Milo she can let go now. Naomi confronts William, who hired Dr. Fife. He lets it be known that Dr. Fife will be staying on staff and Naomi needs to get on board. Violet does the electric shock therapy on Barbara and then it’s time to wait and see what happens. When Naomi can’t come up with any ideas of getting rid of Dr. Fife, Sam suggests going to the couple. Barbara wakes up from the therapy with a headache and a smile but doesn’t remember Jimmy. Uh oh!

Violet says temporary memory loss can sometimes happen and encourages Jimmy to talk to her to try and jog her memory. Violet and Pete talk and she admits it can possibly be permanent and promises to fix it. Naomi meets with the couple and they play on her emotions. They want a baby who looks like them, just like Naomi has a daughter who looks like her. You can see her attitude changing towards the case and she goes to Dr. Fife and agrees to do the procedure. Charlotte is back to fixing the bathroom, which she apparently does when she gets upset. Violet is talking with Barbara and asking her questions about past. She remembers things about her prom and high school but as soon as Violet mentions Jimmy’s name, she says she doesn’t remember him. Violet theorizes that it’s not temporary memory loss but rather something bad happened with Jimmy and Barbara has blocked it out. I concur Violet, I concur!

Pete and Naomi are talking about random things and he says “say the thing.” Apparently there’s a saying she tells him to get him through the Violet situation. It’s really cute to watch the Pete/Naomi relationship growing. The stats on the dwarf’s possible embryos make Naomi’s opinion change (there’s a 40% chance of cancer in the baby if they do the procedure) and she finally let’s Dr. Fife know how she feels. She no longer is on board with the procedure. Pete and Violet are trying to force Barbara to remember Jimmy and they ask her to remember their last fight. Jimmy is in the room and he says they never fight. Barbara just wants Jell-O. Charlotte finally has a client who has a problem “satisfying” his girlfriend. His story doesn’t hold up and Charlotte gets suspicious. Addison buys a designer bag to bring Milo in to visit Lily (Lily loves handbags, which was in the opening scene but I didn’t think was important enough to mention, but apparently it was.). While walking down the hall, Addison runs into Lily’s doctor who asks her out and she says yes. When they go to walk in Lily’s room, the hospital staff is zipping Lily into a body bag. So sad! Man….

Violet thinks leaving the Jimmy situation alone is a good idea and Pete thinks diving further into it is necessary. Pete is grilling her about Jimmy being dangerous and they can protect her and she bursts out laughing. She was faking forgetting him because she woke up happy and when she saw Jimmy she lost the happiness she was feeling. She doesn’t want to hurt his feelings because he’s just too nice so faking it is the better route – so she thinks. Wowzas, so didn’t see that twist coming! A bit morbid if you ask me! Lily’s death makes Addison all weepy about being alone. Charlotte goes to Coop and yells at him to stay out of her business (we all knew he sent that guy to her, so obvious). The little couple accuse Naomi of being prejudice against them for being little and that’s why she won’t do the procedure. She tells her sad story about going to fat camp and being made fun of and you get the point. She is worried about the child being healthy, not tall or short. Lily’s cousin comes to visit Addison and take Milo home, leaving Addison alone yet again.

Violet and Pete share a good laugh over the Jimmy/Barbara situation. They decide to keep up with Barbara’s lie instead of hurting his feelings even more. Coop tells Charlotte her practice won’t build overnight and she asks him what chat room he used – maybe it will bring in business. Violet and Pete tell Jimmy to move on from Barbara and they are sorry about what happened. Addison calls Sam over to help her get Milo out from underneath the couch. Guess she’s decided to keep him. You know, they’ve been spending a lot of time together lately. Hmm.

I thought the whole Barbara/Jimmy storyline was, yet again, another double meaning storyline for Violet and Pete. They briefly mentioned it to each other in the show, but skated over it quickly. And as much as I like Charlotte, she’s been having the same storyline every week – whine, fight with Coop, Coop apologizes and all is well again. I can only take so much of that. I wonder if they’ll throw Sam and Addison together since he didn’t go back with Naomi. What do you think? Leave your TwoCents below!
