Derek, Arizona and Callie all get paged in the middle of the night. Someone needs an emergency baby surgery (or something) and another girl has like fifty broken bones. Let’s see how the Seattle Grace staff handles their medical emergencies this week!

9:01 – A young kid is wandering around with Arizona doing rounds. Seems pretty smart.

9:03 – Ok, he’s a patient. Something wrong absorbing nutrients. His 11th birthday is coming up.

9:05 – Parents of the boy want a meeting with Arizona, Richard and a board member. Board member is worried.

9:06 – No need to worry, parents are thrilled son made it to 11th birthday (was not supposed to last past 9th) so they are donating TWENTY FIVE MILLION DOLLARS to the hospital holy crap!! Half for research for their son; half for the hospital itself!!

9:09 – Callie did not know it was Arizona’s birthday because Arizona doesn’t like making a big deal of it. Boring!!!

9:12 – Richard gives Alex all of Izzie’s unpaid medical bills- and it’s a THICK folder. Yikes!!

9:13 – Cute short haired girl from Mercy West is always trying to be nice to Alex. Alex is always a dick. I wonder if she has a crush on him.

9:14 – The Mom of the TINY baby is freaking out… she wants to hold the baby… but she can’t and then she goes into a seizure right at the same time that the tiny baby is having some issue.

9:15 – The young boy is having abdominal issues that are making him not feel well, either.

9:16 – HAHA the fifteen year old girl with 52 broken bones who feel off her roof? She was high on shrooms. The parents flip out a lot and then she owns parents by reciting her ridiculous resume!! haha, awesome! See “quote of the episode” below!

9:19 – The little boy is dire; his death is imminent. The parents want a surgery to extend his life a few months, even though Arizona is not convinced he’ll even survive the surgery. Richard wants Arizona to do it. She agrees to do it.

9:21 – Alex is holding the premature baby and it seems to be helping. Skin to skin contact helps best, though, so Miranda tells him to take his shirt off!

9:22 – The fifteen year old girl is in surgery and something is going wrong. Not sure what. It’s a cardio problem. Yang can do it but Owen objects. So Yang goes rogue and starts doing it anyway! She looks to have fixed it right before Cardio arrives but Owen looks PISSED!! Do these doctors ever follow orders?

9:28 – Owen is PISSED

9:35 – Arizona does the surgery. It was successful. But Arizona is pissed that Callie was not supportive. Owen and Christina are arguing; so are Arizona and Callie.

9:37 – Arizona is paged. The boy (Wallace) is in septic shock because his body could not handle the surgery.

9:41 – Wallace died. He was a cool kid, too. 😦

9:43 – Token Meredith scene just so no one forgets she’s on the show. *yawn*

9:44 – Alex is still coddling the baby. Miranda tells him he’d be good in pediatrics.

9:45 – The fifteen year old is on the phone with her drug dealer in front of Christina. Hahahaha. She gives her a good talking to, telling her that she almost died on the OR table, and she may think she’s invincible, but she is not, and to cut the drugs out.

9:46 – Arizona comes home. And Callie organized a surprise party. Oh Dear God. Arizona breaks down and leaves. Callie follows.

9:54 – Arizona goes back to the hospital to see the parents. Sad scene. 😦

9:55 – Short haired girl decides to sit with Alex while he nurses the baby.

9:56 – The Mercy West guy (at the surprise party) is hitting on Yang. Haha. He kisses Yang. But she stops it because she is involved.

9:57 – Mom gets to meet her premature baby.

9:58 – Yang goes to hospital to get Owen and take him home with her.

9:59 – Wallace’s parents view the body. Ugh, poor kid.

10:00 – Parents are still giving Seattle Grace the $25M but only because of Arizona.

Not bad, not bad. I enjoyed this episode. Good drama, good emotion, some humor. I would say this is one of the stronger episodes so far this season. What say you, my favorite readers?
