Our episode is about a guy who looks like a chicken, and is found dead by a group of girls called Woodchucks. And two of our characters hook up, and I was not expecting it, but did like it.

A Girl Scout-like group of girls that call themselves Woodchucks find the body of a man. They are something like mini-Bones in training. They took samples of everything and made a stretcher to carry the body on. Pretty cool, if you ask me. The victim turns out to be a worker at a chicken farm, and ironically looks like a chicken. It is depressing to see how the chicken farm is run and how overcrowded the chickens are. I think maybe Hart Hanson wanted to show how disgusting the whole process is.

As for our characters:
Angela is almost done with her 6 month celibacy. I think she is a bit anxious, but she feels she has become more in tune with people. As she learns how the chickens are treated she becomes upset and wants to do something about the treatment of the animals. She becomes an activist for pork… pigs actually. She shows Temp a picture of a piglet and asks her if she would help save it. Temp, of course, doesn’t see the logic in it. Angela gets upset and wonders how they are even friends. Temp is… well, confused.

Booth, Sweets and Temp go to the Diner for lunch. Booth sees that she is upset about something. She tells him that she and Angela had a fight. Booth doesn’t want to hear about it because he doesn’t want to come between best friends. Now the best part is after Temp leaves (and there was cute hand-holding going on) Sweets comes to the conclusion Booth dated sisters. Booth then says they were twins and “it was all wrong”. Sweets like a school kid, says “it’s all right” and wants to hear all about it. It is quite funny how these 2 are getting along now, when before, Booth couldn’t stand him.

Meanwhile, Angela is on a mission to save her pig. She talks to Sweets about donating to her cause. He says she needs to abandon the celibacy and get back to people and reconnect with humanity. Angela talks to our cute intern about the pig. He tells her he loves meat. Ribs, pork chops, the whole thing…and he is not sorry for it. He has student loans to pay but he still reaches into his wallet and finds $45 to give her. Angela is a bit emotional about his generosity to help and kisses him. I mean a big kiss, not some piddley one. He is surprised and then kisses her back. I was not expecting that! But I do like these two together.

Later, when Wendall and Angela had to show how they came up with the injury on the victims head, Cam notices their uneasiness. She notices that there is definitely something going on between these two.

In the end, Temp and Booth are at the Diner and she asks Booth for his opinion on the Angela fight. He feels she should let Angela have this one. Temp goes over to the bar and gives Angela a check so she can save the pig. Wendall puts his arm around Angela in an affectionate way and Booth sees this. He realizes these two are hooking up. When Temp comes back to Booth, she has no clue to what Booth knows, and she doesn’t want to know.

As for the case, the guard did it. The guard’s wife got sick from the chicken plant and so they moved to another county. So he asked the manager for a gas allowance. Victim said no, which got the guard angry. The guard held the guys head to the ‘chicken plucker’ and that is how he died.

So what did you think? Do you like Angela and Wendall together? What about the tender hand holding? Funny Sweets didn’t say anything about it. Leave me your thoughts.

Peace

Wow, the tender looks from Booth to Bones at the end of this episode had me feeling all soft and gushy. Boreanaz… wow. I’m suddenly smitten.
Okay, now that I got that out of my system, the “hook-up” between Angela and Wendell – fine, fine, but I don’t think they’re in it for the long run. I can see Wendell worshiping her but in the end, isn’t he a bit young and sweet for her? The mystery was okay, there weren’t really any clues along the way to lead me to think that the guard was the perp – I was pretty sure it was going to be the beak snipper woman.
