Hmm… it seems like the entire staff is hanging out waiting for the Chief. When he finally comes out he is PISSED. Sounds like someone died and he wants to know why… so he’s calling them all in one by one to see what went down. Well, let’s get ready to rumble!

9:02 – Hotel fire. Lots of victims came in. Lots of confusion. Hunt tells Chief that Yang had the chart first of the “patient in question”

9:04 – Yang literally had the chart for two seconds before handing it off to one of the new interns. She can’t even remember who. The interns are helping a Mom and boy who got burned.

9:05 – A man is wheeled down the hall with a fire axe sticking out of his chest. AWESOME.

9:06 – Bailey removes axe from said patient. Blood squires EVERYWHERE. Lol.

9:08 – Correction, the new main intern guy (the one pretending to be nice to Izzie from last episode) gave blood that day, was holding the axe, then passed out and ripped the axe out of the patient’s chest. I think he got hit in the face with the axe on the way down which is cool cuz I don’t really like this guy anyway.

Wow, this episode is HARD TO KEEP TRACK OF. Essentially, they’re going through the Chief interviewing all the staff. And all their stories are inter lapping and interweaving and so yeah I am doing the best I can here.

9:12 – The interns are finishing up on the mom who has her little boy there. Lexi patches her up. The other intern says she is OK. She closes the curtains so she can have a little privacy with her little boy.

9:14 – Lexi is now attending another young lad with serious burn wounds. He’s looking for his dad.

9:15 – The Mom, with the little boy, looks to be asphyxiating behind the curtains. I assume she is dying. Yikes.

9:20 – Alex nicknames the doctor who took an axe to the face “nosedive”. hahaha. nice.

9:21 – Yang gave the Mom Morphine (and apparently memorized her entire chart, too) for chest pain.

9:22 – Mark has to literally cut into the Asian kids arm to restore circulation. Lexi is losing it. I would be, too. Jesus!!

9:23 – Lexi is cooling down outside where the Mom’s little boy mentions that his mom CAN’T BREATHE! Lexi runs over and starts doing… uh… medical stuff… which I think involves stabbing her with a syringe in the lungs. But before Lexi can do it one of the other interns steps in and does it. I guess we’ll see why…

9:28 – Ok, so Lexi had to jam the syringe into the woman before inserting a chest tube. And the other guy caught the error. Otherwise, the Mom would have died.

9:29 – Yang is yelling at the little boy. LOL.

9:30 – the Firefighter who feel off a ladder is coding. Until Yang punches him in the chest and revives him. Yang was yelling at the kid because he picked up the defibrillator paddles that were charged! Man, this episode is so hard to keep track of. Sorry, readers.

9:31 – Arizona goes hardcore on Lexi’s booty when she can’t handle the Asian guy’s situation.

9:32 – Mom is still choking. Tubes aren’t getting in there. Alex cuts her throat and jams a finger in. Holy crap did that just happen?

9:39 – Alex is stiching up nosedive. Izzie calls. He leaves.

9:41 – Alex really needs to go help his patient who is choking. He walks over and gives her the throat slit breathing thing.

9:42 – Things were going OK but then she starts failing- everything. She had a huge Carbon Monoxide content and was going acidic. Damn near the entire time tried to save the Mom but she did not make it.

9:43 – One of the new ones seems to think she knows what happened… we’ll see!

9:50 – She passes away and Derek calls it. He asks who the patient belongs to and no one knows.

9:52 – One of the other new girls apparently did not LOOK at the Mom’s lungs- she just listened- because she was distracted right before she was going to look by the man with the axe in his chest. Alas, she did not find the soot in her throat, and she ultimately died. She’s fired. Which is a bummer because she’s pretty.

9:55 – The Dad/Husband arrives from Vancouver and finds his son.

9:57 – Derek gives Chief a pep talk about the new system since the merger: “chaos”. Derek tells Chief he should re-evaluate who may be at fault for the chaos, and the patient’s death. Derek is awesome.

9:58 – Alex throws his phone against the wall.

9:59 – The firefighter lives.

Not a bad episode. Kind of cool new format. Albeit very hard to cover but that’s OK- I am always up to the challenge for ya’ll. So, readers, what did you think?
