Sea slug guts, and jellyfish, and snails, oh my! It’s time for the Samoan Smoothie Reward Challenge, kids. Check your gag reflex at the door… it’s a doozy.

The Top 15 Things I Learned from Survivor 19

Galu (Purple)
15. John: He sat out the Samoan Smoothie Reward Challenge. That’s all I remember.

14. Kelly: She sat out, too. Good move… that challenge was nasty!

13. Brett: Not lucky enough to sit out the Samoan Smoothie Reward Challenge, Brett got a giant clam and sea cucumber smoothie. Yuck! But, he downed it. Nice going!

12. Erik: It takes a big man to drink a sea slug guts smoothie… and an even bigger jerk to make throw-up noises to distract the competition.

11. Laura: In the Immunity Challenge, Laura was chosen to hold a rope attached to a basket that the other tribe could load up with coconuts. She did pretty good, outlasting both rope-holders for Foa Foa.

10. Russell W: When Galu won the Reward Challenge (a BBQ), he chose Shambo to go to Foa Foa and spy, meaning she would not get to partake in the reward. She was none too happy, but he said she had to “pay or that chicken.” You know, he’s really starting to bug me.

9. Dave: Russell is starting to bug Dave, too. It took forever for the fire to get going for the BBQ, and Dave blamed Russell for it. Russell jumped in there like he knew what he was doing and really messed everything up. Dave called him out on that, saying he could start the fire quick if Russell would just ask. After the tribe pleaded with Dave to just jump in and do it, Dave said he would if Russell asked. Of course, Russell’s pride got in the way and he wouldn’t ask. Dave was able to take a minute and realize that he needed to check his own pride or else he’d get a target on his back. He made a very strategic move and went to Russell and apologized for being “a jerk.” Then he built the fire lickety-split. I’m really liking Dave.

8. Monica: Since Shambo is on the outs with her tribe, She didn’t know that everyone was voting for Yasmin at the most recent Tribal Council. She Went with the last thing she heard, and that was to vote for Monica. And, boy! Monica is not happy with Shambo!

7. Shambo: Poor girl! She helped her tribe win the Reward, but then got sent packing to Foa Foa. To get back at her meanie tribe, she decided to show Foa Foa that she had no hidden agenda and shared all the clues to the Hidden Immunity Idol. However, even working together, they couldn’t find it… mostly because Russell H already has it.

6. Russell H: What is it with this guy and being “threatened” by little women? When they couldn’t find the Hidden Immunity Idol, Liz figured Russell had it because he had spent a lot of time in that tree when it should have been. Russell got all cagey and said she was walking on thin ice. If that didn’t seal his guilt, I don’t know what would! He wants to be the only castaway playing the “Outwit” part of the game, and he’s freaking out because he isn’t. What’s worse, after they lost Immunity, the torrential rains prevented them for splitting off and being all strategic. He was unable to plant any “seeds” of dissension against Liz, the little girl he thinks “threatened” him. She is a threat, yes, but she didn’t “threaten” him. Quit being a baby, Russell.

5. Jaison: He is absolutely miserable. At Tribal Council, he talked about how this is the hardest thing he has ever done in his life, including his time on the US National Water Polo Team.

4. Mick: At Tribal, he flat out told Jeff that the vote was up in the air because they were stuck in their hut all afternoon. No one could strategize, and they were actually looking forward to coming to Tribal because they knew there would be a warm fire and shelter. How sad is that?

3. Natalie: She and Ashley have become BFFs. After the Reward Challenge, she consoles Ashley who was freaking out that she lost the Challenge for them (she couldn’t keep her smoothie down) and tells her it will all work out fine. Then at Tribal I was very surprised by Natalie’s vote.

2. Liz: Knowing Russell is gunning for her, Liz is at a bit of an advantage because of the storm. Nobody can be sneaky about it and the logical vote would be for the physically weakest member of the tribe: Ashley.

1. Ashley: Yep. Even after bragging that she would rock the Reward Challenge because she is an “experimental eater,” she lost it for them. in the end, that was the last nail in her coffin. She was voted out unanimously.
