If you don’t watch Grey’s Anatomy, then the reason for Dr. Bailey’s visit to CA makes no sense to you. You should really go to the Grey’s Anatomy recap section, but for a quick overview … Bailey has a patient who needs a kidney transplant and she’s going to LA to do it because that’s where the sister of the patient lives and the sister is giving her the kidney. There ya go. As a Grey’s fan, I love the opening with Bailey’s gossip run down of Seattle Grace. And pitting her against Charlotte King in the first few minutes? Love it.
Bailey’s patient, Sara, needs the transplant in the next 72 hours and her sister, Emily, wants the operation done NOW. In true Bailey form, she gives a wonderful Bailey-esque speech about doing things right and how they can wait since back in Seattle there was a problem. Emily has HIV and there is an ethical question of transplanting the kidney. Oh, and it’s illegal too. When time runs out, they decide to use the kidney anyway, Charlotte agrees. When one of the surgeons pulls out of the operation, Sam steps in. He was a surgeon once? Oh the things we learn each week. Sam does some fancy heart-related thing and saves the day. I feel a Sam-Grey’s crossover coming soon! Sam goes to kiss Bailey and she stops him. WHY! WHY BAILEY WHY!! This is Taye Diggs we’re talking about. I would let him hit me in the head with a hammer if it meant he would kiss me after. Wowzas. There’s a story behind why Sam stopped being a surgeon and I’m sure we’ll find out sometime soon. Wonder what it is and how long it will take?
Violet is back at work and Sheldon is the first to visit. He rips into her about giving the baby to Pete because the baby might be his. In the middle of her breakdown, Sheldon confronts her about having a paternity test. It’s actually a brilliant move because she is so far gone and doesn’t care that it works out in his favor. Pete knows in his being Lucas is his. Sheldon is going to get a lawyer when Pete refuses the test. When Violet won’t sign the papers making Pete the father on the birth certificate, he agrees to the paternity test. Coop goes to Violet about the test and she tells him how she wants to care but she can’t, even though she is trying to. The results are in. Sheldon and Pete are waiting for the results and Sheldon awkwardly tells a joke. Like usual. Who’s the daddy? PETE! Violet is watching on from outside the office. Sheldon leaves and Pete rejoices. Is this the end of Sheldon?
Coop visits a patient who lives in a “bubble” because he has no immune system. He wants to go to a dance and kiss a girl. He’s 16 and is sick of just talking. Coop really wants to help him because he can relate to him. He goes to Pete for help and the mother talks about losing her child. Gotta love all the double meanings this show always has. Coop wants Charlotte back in his life – as his girlfriend – and she’s not ready for it. When it’s time for the dance, his patient, Ryan, is healthy enough to go but his mother has the flu and he can’t leave the bubble to go through the house and leave. They sneak Ryan out anyway to the dance and he kisses the girl – then passes out. Oh Private Practice, why did you have to ruin something so lovely? As Coop looks on as Ryan’s date visits him in the hospital, he runs to Charlotte’s office, swoops her up, gives this really odd speech about being the man and getting the girl and says they’re moving in together. What a great Coop moment!
Naomi comes to visit Violet and runs into Addison. They still aren’t talking. Really, how much longer is this going to last? Naomi explains why she left and Addison. Violet goes to Naomi to sit and drink, but not to talk. Are they new BFFLs?
Morgan, Noah’s wife, comes to the practice with her baby in tow to ask Addison if she slept with Noah. WHAT THE?? That came out of nowhere. I love Bailey’s response when Addison tries to explain. “I don’t want to know about your bases. Or your balls.” Love it. Morgan comes back a second time and apologizes for the first visit. Addison says she’s sorry but that nothing happened and Morgan leaves. Wait, never mind, she comes back a third time. It would’ve been better had it just been sex. But it was more than that. She asks if Addison loves him. She doesn’t answer and Morgan says this is worse and she doesn’t forgive her. Wonder how long it will be before we see her again. Or Noah for that matter?
I love the Addison/Bailey interaction during the episode. They have true friendship talks and she is all Bailey-like while doing it. And watching a half-naked Sam at the same time! OOOH, hotness. Bailey opens up to Addison about how Tucker sent e-mails to a woman, about his wants in life and shared feelings with her. The same thing Addison did with Noah. See, more double meaning story lines. After this talk, Addison goes to see Naomi and apologizes. Naomi asks Addison to sit down and I suppose all is well in the Naomi/Addison world again.
So, here are the questions of the week. Why did Sam leave surgery? The previews show him going to operate again, so do you think he will give it another go? What is going to happen between Pete and Violet? Will Coop and Charlotte make it? Will Sam crossover to Grey’s and visit Bailey in the future? OH I HOPE SO! Leave your TwoCents below!
