Hi Reader friends. Are you ready for another week of Grey’s? The opener last week wasn’t bad. George is Dead, Hunt is less crazy, Richard is still the chief, and Lexi is still the object of my ever-lasting affection. What do these crazy doctors have in store for us this week? And, as always, I’ll be sticking READER CHALLENGE questions in the middle of my post, so check ‘em out, and leave your answers in the comment section. Let’s Roll!

9:01 – Everyone is working extra hard since chief announced there may be layoffs with the Mercy West merger. Izzie is back with a new wig. Christina is kissing Arizona’s ass to grease the wheels a bit.

9:03 – Lexi trips and falls on the floor with like 3 bags of blood in her hands. Messy. GROSS! Lexi also kind freaks out. Mark calms her down.

9:05 – Derek yells at Richard. Wants to know if there will be cuts to his department. Richard yells back at Derek.

9:06 – Car crash lady comes in. She has a schizophrenic son who insists that the hospital is just trying to get to him and that aliens have impregnated his mother when something weird starts moving around in her stomach. Uh, yeah. OK. READER CHALLENGE: What else has the schizophrenic son been in?

9:09 – Arizona puts a small pink stuffed Teddy Bear broche on Christina. LOL MOMENT!

9:10 – Hey the schizophrenic son is named Tom. Sorry, ABC, I have Tourette’s- NOT schizophrenia- so the joke is on you!

9:12 – HAHAHA Christina is HORRIBLE with kids. Wow. Awful.

9:15 – Lexi is treating Tom (schizo guy). Lexi has no name tag. Tom freaks out. Throws her down. Runs out. Okie Dokie, Artichokie.

9:20 – Alex is babying Izzie. But Izzie isn’t being responsible… so…

9:23 – Lexi is freaking out looking for Tom. Oh, she hears him! Security found him. Oops, he falls down the lobby stairs. This can’t be good.

9:28 – Tom’s mom has a serious aortic problem. She’ll die if her Aorta ruptures but she can’t leave Tom’s side even for surgery.

9:43 – Lexi figures out that if they give Tom surgery they can give the Mom surgery at the same time. Maybe this solves their problem.

9:46 – Yang gets to help in a baby surgery to reattach an arm. It was kind of gross. I don’t think Arizona is feeling Yang’s faux interest in Pediatrics.

9:53 – Richard tells Derek that the first round of layoffs is being announced. Via e-mail from HR. That’s weak. Sounds like ¾ of the intern class was cut.

9:59 – All the regular cast members play baseball for some reason.

Man, this episode sucked. I don’t have anything clever to say. What’d you think, readers? Was it as crappy as I thought?

I love ya Tom, but I have to disagree with you about this episode sucking. Since we all knew what was coming last week, I loved this week’s new, not-all-over-the-media episode. Watching Alex take care of Izzie was great because it’s deepening their love and also, since Izzie has always taken care of everyone else, it’s nice to finally have someone take care of her – and for her to let them.

And let’s talk about your future wife. Lexi rocked this episode. She started off at Seattle Grace as Meredith’s little sister and someone I always wished would fall off a pier. But now she’s proving herself to be a great doctor and she’s even softening Mark, two things I never thought possible. And I loved the couples playing baseball at the end. Lexi’s really becoming part of the “group.” I like that.

As for your reader challenge, I recognized him and didn’t know for what. So I IMDBed him and I know why *I* recognize him, but I’m sure it’s not why everyone else does. I remember him from a guest spot he did on NUMB3RS. Looking at his resume, I know what you’re looking for and I don’t win. 🙂 (I also want to know why he keeps playing guys named Tom? Great name, but still..)

      Hey Farrah-
I don’t disagree with some of your long-term sentiments about the show in general… I just thought this episode was boring. The best part was when Alex brought Izzie food and she goes “I hate you” and he goes “shut up”. That was awesome.

I dunno, this episode just kind of bored me. Yang with peds was pretty hilarious though.

The baseball game at the end was STUUUUPID.

    I KNOW WHERE HE’S FROM!
It took me about 3 seconds to look at my friend and shout “WHERE THE HEART IS!”

I loved him in that movie, and he did a very good job in this episode.

I’m not sure if I like Grey’s this season yet, but it’s just begun.

    Hi Faye-

I will be happy to give you ‘reader points’ for your answer… though I was looking for a different answer.

I recognized him from a few seasons of ’24’.

What would you like to see this season in Grey’s, Faye?
