Is An Emmy For Criminal Minds In The Works?

Exciting news for Criminal Minds fans this week! Two episodes have been put up to be considered for Emmy nominations: Mayhem (the season premiere), and A Shade of Gray. You can check out all Emmy Awards for consideration here.

Mayhem and A Shade of Gray were very good episodes, but those two wouldn’t have been my choices. I would have picked from these three: Bloodline, Zoe’s Reprise, and Amplification. Still, I hope the two they selected get nominated. Criminal Minds has only received one previous Emmy nod, last year, for “Outstanding Stunt Coordination” for Tabula Rasa. The show deserves to be recognized!

What do you think about the nominations? Which episodes would you have chosen if it were in your hands? Give me your TwoCents!

I would have picked “Normal”- Mitch Pileggi totally deserves an Emmy for that guest role.

“A Shade of Grey” would have been my other pick, though. It was such a good, creepy episode.

  2. Marley says:

Omnivore, Demonology, or To Hell and Back, totally.

  3. Kelly Kenrick says:

Definitely Omnivore, Demonology or To Hell and Back

I think all the episodes listed above were great (though, I wasn’t so much a fan of Omnivore… and I’ll just step out of the way before you all start throwing things at me).

Demonology is in my top 2 episodes of the season overall (Bloodlines is the other). But, as much as I love it, and as well done as it was, objectively speaking the plotline of Demonology bordered on silly–the Prentiss backstory was great, but exorcism, old friends showing up out of nowhere, Prentiss’ ridiculous nosebleed at the end? And I love the finale, unlike a lot of people, but still think Amplification was way more intense.

    Zoe’s Reprise… just because I’m a Rossi lover. What, I can be biased all I want. 😛

I think I probably would pick Zoe’s Reprise myself. I did enjoy Mayhem, but I felt like it was lacking just a bit in the wrap-up. I wanted to know who the unsubs were trying to blow up and why, and we didn’t get that answered.

  6. JD says:

You’re a Rossi lover too, though, right? 😛

And YES. I think that’s exactly the issue I had with Mayhem. I loved the episode, but it left me with so many questions that were never answered.

I would have chosen A Shade of Gray, since that was one of my favorite episodes of all the CM seasons. But the other would have been either Demonology, Omnivore, or Conflicted (another new favorite).
