Exciting news for Criminal Minds fans this week! Two episodes have been put up to be considered for Emmy nominations: Mayhem (the season premiere), and A Shade of Gray. You can check out all Emmy Awards for consideration here.
Mayhem and A Shade of Gray were very good episodes, but those two wouldn’t have been my choices. I would have picked from these three: Bloodline, Zoe’s Reprise, and Amplification. Still, I hope the two they selected get nominated. Criminal Minds has only received one previous Emmy nod, last year, for “Outstanding Stunt Coordination” for Tabula Rasa. The show deserves to be recognized!
What do you think about the nominations? Which episodes would you have chosen if it were in your hands? Give me your TwoCents!

I would have picked “Normal” and “Amplification”, in all likelihood. Both showcased the team, were well-acted, and had interesting cases. “Minimal Loss” might have been up there as well, but the ‘killing cult’ thing has been done before (even if I thought they handled the stereotypes reasonably well), and probably wouldn’t have been taken seriously.
Personally, I thought “Mayhem” had too many plotholes to be nominated, and “A Shade of Gray” was a bit melodramatic at points (ex., the ‘dun dun dun!your son’s a sociopath!!’ music at the end).
personally, i thought that the show on 11/25/09 was a fine showcase of hotch’s talent as an actor. his search for his wife who had been stalked by his nemesis( reaper ), acting and directing were superb.
I tend to thin Thomas Gibson’s talent is underratted in this show because it’s subtle. Episode 100 was definitely great for Gibson, though. Definitely Emmy worthy! Maybe this coming year?
