This week, in an episode directed by James Lafferty, Lucas and Peyton argue over getting married and her arranging things for the baby. Brooke and Victoria worry about losing Sam and Nathan finally gets to play in front of an NBA scout. It’s been a month since the previous episode and Sam has been regularly talking to her birth mother. Brooke tries to be strong while Sam refers to her birth mother as mom and Victoria talks to Sam about whether or not she wants to live with her birth mom and Sam is unsure.
Peyton records a video for the baby. She explains how important music is and how she’s made a playlist of a hundred songs to save your life for whenever her child needs it. Peyton tells the camera to go to Brooke for anything and to take care of Lucas and be kind to him. Lucas walks in, gets upset and says to Peyton that she’s not making the video and is not going to be preparing to die. Peyton brings up that she wants to get married now and Lucas outright refuses. Lucas takes the hatbox into the garage and later, he and Jamie look through it.
Meanwhile, Brooke’s received her adoption papers in the mail and is very ready to formally adopt Sam. Brooke tells her this and Sam asks if she can still see her birth mom. It’s clear that Sam wants to spend more permanent time with her real mother and Brooke lets her do that, making sure she knows that she loves Sam no matter what. Sam leaves and Brooke’s a mess. Even Victoria cries as best as her robot self can manage. Victoria and Brooke focus on B. Davis but Brooke breaks down and Victoria tries to comfort her. You’ve come a long away, Victoria.
Nathan finds out an NBA scout will be at his game. He spends most of the game making everyone else look good and his coach reminds Nathan to make sure he gets noticed as well. At the end of the episode, there’s still no word from the scout and a nervous Nathan can’t sleep and keeps checking his phone.
Elsewhere in Tree Hill, Skills and Jamie’s teacher go out on a date. She’s been asked to last minute babysit a boy from Jamie’s class and he’s beyond annoying. I’ll just say this: he has a ventriloquist dummy. The scenes with the kid are so overdone and obnoxious that it’s absolutely painful to watch.
And finally, Lucas agrees to get married right away if the doctor says Peyton can. Looks like we are going to have a wedding this season on One Tree Hill after all.
So, what did you think about this episode? I’m worried about how Brooke with handle not having Sam around and I really hope Sam stays on the show. I enjoy her character a lot and think she has made Brooke’s storylines this year very strong. Do you feel the same? Let me know your TwoCents in the comments!
