Pam shows Angela a picture of her Phillip wearing the booties that Angela gave them as a gift. Oscar wants to show off pictures of his dog like a kid. Pam and Angela do a talking head about him behind his back. Then Angela said her 3 month old baby is crawling. Oscar and Pam talking head about what a liar Angela is. Pam complains about the inconvenience of having two kids. Oscar and Angela talking head about Pam. Andy walks in and talks about how his brother bought a boat and how there’s nothing harder than taking care of a boat. Oscar, Angela, and Pam talking head to complain about Andy. This was all mildly amusing.
The new Sabre store team is finished with their seminar and Dwight is still pestering Nellie to make him VP. Jim and Cathy have been hanging out a bit. I don’t want to this go anywhere.
Cathy shows up to Jim’s room in her skimpy pajamas because she says the heat is out in her room. Jim lets her come in but he is clearly uncomfortable. As you should be, James. In a last ditch effort to get someone else in the room he calls Dwight and tells him he saw a bed bug. Jim thinks it worked until Cathy goes to take a shower in Jim’s bathroom. She comes out in only a robe. Jim, just send her away.
Todd Packer makes it known to Dwight he intends to secure the VP position by sleeping with Nellie. Dwight can’t be outdone so he awkwardly tries to seduce Nellie at the same time. While Dwight tends to the bed bug sitch, he has Gabe make sure that Todd doesn’t sleep with Nellie. Gabe sprays something in to Todd’s beer that makes him puke. Dwight makes his move.
Jim finally can’t take anymore so he tells Cathy that he is very happily married. Cathy is all “What? What do you think of me?!” and makes Jim feel foolish. Then she cuddles up to him on the bed. Cathy, you dirty homewrecker. Cathy ends up in her underwear in Jim’s bed and he finally kicks her out. Then he and Dwight (who is hiding out from Nellie) eat the room service desserts that Cathy ordered.
While the Sabre think tank group is away, the rest of the office has to stay late to work on balancing orders. Val’s boyfriend brings them Jamaican food and calls Daryl out on sleeping with his girlfriend. There’s a big fight but in the end Daryl tells Val that he likes her. Yawn.
Good for Dwight for deciding not to sleep with Nellie to get the VP position. I do wish Jim had been more forward with Cathy rather than waiting on someone to bail him out. Just tell her no, Jim. Don’t be subtle. Overall, I found the episode rather boring and forgettable. A lot of meh, if you ask me. Let me know what you thought. Leave a comment!
I kept waiting for Jim to call/text Pam and then pass the phone to Cathy – I love it when Pam gets all bully-like.
That would have been nice. It’s clear that Jim doesn’t have the cajones to handle it.
Jim and Kathy need to hook up and have a soft p0rn scene. That would make the ratings skyrocket. Lindsey Broad is so effn hot.
Hmm, yeah, I guess that’s one way to go.
Oh agreed, I am secretly rooting for Kathy. That said, I don’t think that the show could explore something as dark as Jim cheating on Pam. I find that Jim & Pam are so bland now. Couples aren’t perfect, cheating happens. Kathy is hot. It’s not real life, so why not entertain us?
