One secret came out of the bag last week. This week, the bigger secret reveals itself in a surprising way. Kudos to Kim Coates as Tig, who turns out to be the hub of this episode.

In the wake of Gemma’s confession, Jax is sewing the patches back onto his leather. Clay shows up at his door with an apology. As he holds Abel, he and Jax discuss how to handle Zobelle. While it’s never mentioned, it’s an interesting display of Abel being born into this life.

At the clubhouse, Chibs is the first to call for blood, but Jax and Clay are united in finding a more subtle situation, trying to beat Zobelle at his own game. Jax begins looking for weaknesses as Clay orders everyone to consolidate their guns. Tig goes to Gemma, and the search leads them into each other’s arms. Tig, however, breaks away before anything can happen.

This ends up being the last straw of guilt for Tig, who finds Opie immediately and confesses to shooting Donna. Opie blames Stahl and takes off to kill her. He gets her at gunpoint, but doesn’t pull the trigger, telling her to remember,”The outlaw had mercy.” When Jax is finally able to talk to him, Opie is struggling with how to look at these guys every day. Jax hands over JT’s manuscript, and after Opie reads it, he is willing to keep the secret buried for the good of the club. When Piney bursts in and takes a shot at Clay, it’s Opie who talks him down.

Jax follows Zobelle, arriving at a meet between him and the Mayans. Zobelle’s plan becomes apparent: To control the heroin trade. Since he is doing this behind Weston’s back, Jax thinks they have found the wedge they need.

After settling things with Piney, Clay is about to head home, but Jax steers him to the office, where Gemma is still at work. At Tig’s urging, Clay enters and tells Gemma, “I want my wife back.” The passion between the two is finally rekindled.

While Coates has the most to do in the episode, Ryan Hurst continues to make Opie one of the most engaging characters on television. Ron Perlman has some great moments as well, coming to terms with the scars he put into place. With two episodes left, the showdown is coming. Are you ready?
